Everyone loves a village panto

A village panto provides a wonderful opportunity to bring all the community together. Teachers, shopkeepers, parish councillors,  local businesses and of course lots of the local children all work together to produce a memorable production, making new friends and creating great memories for years to come.

How hilarious is it when you recognise the local butcher dressed up as a dame or the postman as Buttons?

Of course everyone loves to dress up and look either ridiculous as an Ugly Sister, beautiful as a fairy or princess, or scary as a wicked Uncle or Stepmother.

Pantomimes are such fun and we just love putting sets of costumes together for local productions that very often are written by the talented villagers themselves.

The children get enormous enjoyment and gain confidence working alongside adults as fairies, pixies and village folk.

Even with a limited budget, Admiral Costumes always come up trumps with suitable attire for the whole cast.

This year we have had the privilege of working with Hanslope, Little Gaddesdon and MiltonKeynes Village’s superb panto productions.

Bespoke costumes can be made to order, but do order early for next year!

Oliver Twist

Oliver remains a popular choice of musical for both stage and drama schools due to the number of young people required for the cast.

The well-known story by Charles Dickens, tells of the young Oliver Twist growing up as an orphan in the poorhouse. He is sold to an undertaker, but escapes to live rough on the streets of London pick pocketing and thieving. Oliver gets caught stealing from the wealthy Mr Brownlow and is taken in by him and his family.

We have a wonderful choice of costumes suitable for this show from Oliver’s collarless shirt, breeches and baker boy hat, the ArtfulDodger’s worn tailcoat and top hat, Fagin’s coat and fingerless gloves, Nancy’s red dress and work clothing for Bill Sikes.

We have masses of shirts, waistcoats and caps for the workhouse boys and can cope with large school casts.
